I went to Helsinki last week with mum and sisters. I regret having overlooked that lovely city for so long. It's so close and so pretty! Perfect for a short trip, and you can take the boat if you live in Stockholm or somewhere else near the Baltic Sea to travel more environmentally friendly.

Boat is nicer than flying I think, but beware of Russian vodka birthday parties...

The city center is quite small, so you can explore it by foot.

There's lots of beautiful parks.

And amazing architecture!

All these pretty details and ornaments on the façades.

This one made me laugh though, gilded child labour?

This is the Designmuseo, which we meant to visit (and Ateneum too). But then the sun came out and we decided to wander around instead. But I'll try to go back there soon and visit the museums and ride in the cute green trams.

There didn't seem to be that much street art. But next visit I'll make sure to look harder and find some more!

I also got to spend some of my hard-earned cash from the summer job. There's lots of young cool design in Helsinki. I found a painting at Kakku Galleria, a new pair of red shoes at The Green Dress, and super cute scissor earrings by Kooky Gems at Lux. And these are only a few of all my new favourite places there. Also, thanks a lot to Suki for the advices on where to go and what to see in Helsinki. I hope to be back there soon...
