post celebration

This is me between Saturday night and Sunday morning. A wee bit earlier than I usually come home nights like that. It started with a delightful dinner with Micaela and ended at Ace. And it included a bit too much of that delicious red wine for the day after. Am I turning old at 21?
post celebration
Sunday morning was nice as well. Six hours of breakfast meeting and meet-up (breakfast is the best meal! and fika of course...) with Maria. Wow, I've never had that much coffee before. Or maybe I have, but not after red wine. Not good for my brain. But coffee is my favourite addiction (seen those?).

Oh, and as you can see (I'm wearing the rests of it on my arm, didn't realise it had shrunk, just thought I was fatter, or... broader around my shoulders... hmm...) I managed to shrink and felt my favourite black merino cardigan. It has been through various adventures with me and on its own before, but I doubt that it will survive this. What a shame, I should know how to handle things like that (even if I work mostly in acrylics). And what a shame on one of my favourite basic clothes. Luckily I'm attending a Do ReDo workshop this weekend. Then I'll try to turn my beloved cardigan into something else just as nice (I'll just need to felt it some more).

Barcelona

Last week was hectic. I managed to cram in:
  • family law exam
  • employment and labour law exam
  • collab with a graffiti artist from Gothenburg
  • another street art exhibition (though we missed the opening)
  • forming a street art crew of our own
  • very few hours of sleep

And the reward: four days in Barcelona. It was one of my best trips ever. Partly because I've never needed a vacation that badly before (more than two weeks of all work no play and no week-ends, well except for the street art but even that seemed to just stress me out in the end), partly because that city is wonderful - why didn't I give it a chance before? And mostly because I had the best company, guide and friend with me: Maria. Four delightful days and four wild and crazy nights.

I was surprised by the beautiful light that far south, it reminded me of Stockholm in summer.

... among which this fellow was our absolute favourite (he's my birthday present to Maria, probably the best present I've ever given)

We spent most of our time in the streets - you don't need to visit museums to see breathtaking art, you know. Just keep your eyes open! Most of it has been buffed, though. So sad! :( I regret not going there earlier, cause according to Maria it used to be amazing - even now it was! And I swear to go to Berlin before it happens there as well. Anyway, most of my photos are from the streets (of our and other people's art). Getting nerdier and nerdier...
spetsdukarna
This was our favourite. Small drawings on those lace cake thingies (what do you call them?). They were all over the city, so lovely!

It was such grand trip. I'm still slightly hungover, sick and depressed for being back in cold and gray everyday life in Stockholm. Back to studying, going to bed in the evening, eating "pasta i platsburk" (cheap student food), washy coffee, expensive alcohol... But I'm hoping to be back in the rythm next week. And life here isn't that bad. It's getting lighter and this term will be interesting (constitutional law). Now I've collected lots of new impressions, inspiration and energy. I just need to find those small everyday blisses and keep on going without looking back until spring comes. And there will always be street art...

A summary of the trip in images:
