I spent last Thursday in Riga. Such a lovely place, and good for a one day visit (though I wouldn't mind coming back and exploring more of the Russian part and the street art of course). We saw a little of everything: the old town, the market, a wonderful park and canal, art noveau architecture... and street art.
Riga is good cause you can walk around the city and see most of it. And it's such an interesting and dynamic mix...

This futuristic silhouette was my first view of Riga (went there by boat).

The art noveau buildings were stunning.

So much beautiful details...

I loved this empire state building copy and all the cable crossings (there were lots of trolley buses)

Then there were the rougher parts (I like!)

And looots of amazing street art (you just gotta know where to look)

This is my absolute favourite!

Someone please tell me who made these!

There seemed to be a tradition of couples putting carved padlocks on the bridges over the channel. Romantic...
I'm looking forward to my next trip. Can't think of a better way to spend the last days of my summer than in Barcelona with Maria...
