in awe

Tonight I saw the magnificent Delirium with Cirque du Soleil. Never seen anything like it, it was just what I needed. Today really really felt like Friday. I was so ready for Friday. But it's not, Friday is tomorrow (and then comes weekend, yay).

I'm also admiring this set by Môsieur J. tonight... and totally neglecting reading about arbetsrätt & rättskedjan.

cold feet

Don't let your feet grow cold, or you will be even sicker than before.
Don't think about what you have to do, or you'll never sleep again.
Do close your eyes and try not to think about patriarchy and the misery of others. Think about civil law and the enforcement service instead.

Today is not a good day. African dance deficit (due to sickness and severe lack of sleep) and a surplus of random misery:
- At the library: three teens (two boys and a girl) were doing some sort of group project (about Darwin I think). The boys sat down in the sofa with a computer magazine, and sent the girl to try to find some books. She went away, came back 10 minutes later and told them there were no books. So they told her to go onto google and search. And she did. Seriously. Just like that. It could have been me seven years ago. And it totally pissed me off. But I just kept on looking for the right paragraph. Minding my own business.
- On the way home: A drunkard clang onto "his" intoxicated woman. Hard grip around her neck, trying to kiss her. She told him off, and said that he cannot do that to her anymore, that no one can. He firmed up his grip. I hope that will never ever be me. Walked even faster past them. Minding my own business.
- Seizement laws are so harsh and cold. I just keep on reading and learning. Minding my own business.

Civil courage and intervention or discretion? I admire the first, especially in public space.

Some interesting reading (page 30) if you read Swedish, found via Street Art Stockholm.

focus on the good things

I'm struggling at the moment. This night I'm trying to:
  • not think about everything I have to do this week
  • not think about the exams in five weeks
  • not think about all the crocheting for the upcoming exposition (it's doesn't even feel exciting at the moment)
  • not think about the Idla show or the getting into the suits
  • not think about åklagarmyndigheten
  • And most of all: trying to sleep

Might take a walk if nothing else helps. Or just read the civil law all over again. Trying to think about nice things. Remembering some of the gorgeous things I've seen in the streets the last week.

golden owl

golden owl

Yesterday I found a top with a golden owl on it. Who could resist that?
illgrön balkong
Everyday when I'm waiting for the metro in Bredäng I see this balcony. I wonder who painted the walls lime green and why they chose that colour?
hjälp vad ska man göra
In the bathroom at the library at the university (the scary thing is that it's not just something that they say: everyone who's there are law students, the only students studying). "Hjälp! Vad ska jag göra? Tänka!" (Help! What should I do? Think!") I often feel like that, and to think is a quite good advice... I guess..?
träd
Autumn is delightful (when sunny instead of rainy and cold). Looking forward to crispy cold and fresh days with bright blue sky and sparkling trees.

Friday afternoon

I'm totally exhausted.
kanelbulle
A small treat for surviving one more week: yesterday's cinnamon roll and a glass of milk.

They are emptying the bar at Trädgården tonight. Wanna come?

EFIT onsdag 12 september

Today is an EFIT day (EFIT = ett foto i timmen = a photo per hour).
08.32
08.32: finishing breakfast, saving the apple for tomorrow
09.34
09.34: on the metro
10.34
10.34: about to start studying (still not fully awake)
11.44
11.44: losing myself between the clauses and codes
13.15
13.15: read metro this morning, they said that leggings are out
14.45
14.45: there seems to be yarn or rests of it wherever I go (this is on my bike)
15.51
15.51: my parents got a new fancy espresso machine that grinds coffee beans (oh the smell of it, and ooh the coffee it makes - divine!)
16.57
16.57: lillasyster Ellen made a yummy cake (orange flavoured with dark chocolate chunks in it)
18.02
18.02: lillasyster Ellen is crazy

Now I'm off to train idla. I might share the rest of my day next time I have internet (and camera cable) in my vicinity.
18.19
18.19: Maria's measuring tape, which I should return, is intertwined with mine (my new curtains are made out of that fabric)
19.43
19.43: On the metro, at the station in Gamla Stan (Old Town). This is why I love Stockholm...
21.43
21.43: graffiti at Stadion (metro station), on the way home
23.07
23.07: Blue soap (the perfume is liverleaf and Lady's mantle, which sounds much more poetic in Swedish: blåsippa och daggkåpa) and yellow tiles. Taking a shower, then going straight to bed without falling asleep.

SPC: cold shower

Showers are scary places, not only in Psycho (which they are showing at Cinemateket soon, might go and see it unless I have to study).
bathroom 1
Mine is scary as in no warm water. Don't know if the people in my house are dirty or if they're just not morning shower persons. I'm too tired not to take a shower bright and early. But I seemed to be the first one since it took half a shower before the hot water came with a sigh of relief.

The bathroom at my new place is nice. Even better now, when I found out that the ugly blue fish tiles were actually just stickers that I quickly removed. Now there are only bright yellow/orange tiles and black and white on the floor. Maybe I'll take all of this month's bathroom self-portraits in there? Don't really think so, since I'm so keen on self-portraits in bathrooms at cafés and such.

going home in the rain

Ok, autumn is here. But where did summer go? It passed by very swiftly, without properly introducing itself. Autumn is nice and cosy, but I'm not ready for it. Nor are my feet. Next time they will be though, cause my toes are tired of being wet and cold.

SPC: chequer tiles

I really like the floor in my new bathroom. It's probably my favourite thing about the new place.

Yes, I'm still barefoot in my ballerinas, stubbornly refusing autumn. And yes, my toes are growing cold).

balcony feet

Shash suggested a feet week. I say it's a nice idea. Here are my feet on the balcony this morning.
feet
Combining reading and enjoying the sun worked for awhile. But there is too much distracting delightfulness on the balcony at the moment...
